Greenlake Bar and Grill

Friendly, fast, and good service. Food was good. Prices too. I'll go back. Had soup and macaroni balls. Coffee wasn't so great.

Musashi's

Small sushi place close to home. Loved it. Got miso soup and onigiri and was afraid it wouldn't be enough. It was plenty. Free tea. Worth the wait. Oh, and $16.00 for 3 of us but Metta would get more next time. Great deal, great food, long wait.

"Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded." -Yogi Berra.

Snout & Co.

A food truck at Wallingford last night, Snout & Co., was delicious and cheap. Had a veggie bowl and it was very good. "Soulful food from Cuba to S. Carolina."

Rocking Wok Taiwanese Cuisine

Good food. Felt very full and very tired after eating a bowl of delicious noodles. Thanks to Jill for recommending this restraurant. This isn't a bad "wok".

Thai Heaven

More like purgatory. Well, not quite that bad but the food was bland. Hot sauce was provided but just added "hot" and not much else. This was "street food" served at Bumbershoot. Should have been better.

Julia's in Wallingford

A cafe close to home. Huge portions. Had the breakfast burrito and it was good but way too big for me. Plenty leftover for a second meal at home. Next time will try the sweet waffle type fare.

Lee's Restaurant at the Wallingford Opera House

Temporarily relocated to Mercer Island. Best food in Seattle. The price is right. (The chef is pictured at the top of the blog.)

Thai vegetarian food near the Wallingford Opera House. Super friendly staff, reasonable prices and close to the new house. This might just break the bank, they do take-out. They are also very quick in getting the food to you.  Also delicious.

Coffee, Tea, and snacks  in Tangletown.  You can sit and visit or work as long as you want, from what I could tell. Great atmosphere.

Fremont Sunday Market

http://www.fremontmarket.com/SplashMay.html

A few great street food stands; naan, falafel, empanadas, pizzas, and a little more. Also street music, clothes, crafts, junk,  jewelry, a little fruit and veggie but not a lot. Fun stuff.

Grateful Bread

The Grateful Bread

The best bagels in the west. Also good muffins and vegan cookies. Tried them at the Ballard Farmers Market. Can't wait to go to the bakery.

Noah's Bagels

Noah's Bagels

You take what you can get. Pretty good bagels but Bagel Market is better, but to far to walk to:) Grateful Bread bagels are better than Noah's. But Noah's aren't bad.

The Noble Fir

The Noble Fir

A large selection of beers and hiking books and maps. Tasters are free and beer is good. Fun to watch the street scene outside.

Ballard Seafood fest

Ballard Seafood fest

Actual people pretending to be Norwegians with horns and large metal fish. Good music, lots of food but can't comment on how good. Tried a salmon burger but I'm no expert. It was interesting.

Pike brewing

http://www.pikebrewing.com/index_html.shtml

It's nice at Pike's. Chose a beer I didn't like and they kindly let me return it for another. Nice people. Good beer. Didn't get any food. Close to Pike's Market.

Marrakesh

Marrakesh

Lee says Yes! to Marakesh (note the rhyme and wash your hands).

You don't get the high tea pour if you order ala carte. Dinner menu is $18.00 but comes with soup and salad and tea. Ala carte was around $10.00. Enjoyed the ambience with seating on the floor on cushions or on a wall bench. Moroccon theme with draped cloth ceiling. Will go back again and try to catch the belly dancer.

La Carta de Oaxaca

Really good Mexican food in Ballard. Although I've never been to Mexico I really enjoyed my meal and the amount was just right. Also, the people were friendly and quick.

http://www.lacartadeoaxaca.com/carta.html

We showed up at this restaurant 20 minutes before it was to open and decided to walk around and come back after it opened. A women overheard us discussing this and said that if we came back when it opened we'd be at the end of a long line. So we came back in 5 minutes and found ourselves second in line behind a couple of former Minnesotans, who gave us all their strategies for beating the crowd at the restaurants and also gave us some real estate advice.

Facing East

Really good Taiwanese food in Bellevue. The atmosphere was friendly and helpful. Some of the dishes I wasn't sure how to eat them and the staff just offered advice without being asked. Very tasty and priced moderately. I'll go back for sure.
